-Thousand of years ago-
> Umbra had been born into the war and fought alongside it's comrades, it was never really born with a particularly normal anatomy sexwise so it just chose to refer to itself in this way. there was always an abnormal energy of greatness eminating from it even when it was just a child. People had always been able to draw hope from it. It's eye had been sliced out a long time ago in the war. It was evident to everybody that all this war needed was one final push to turn the tide. After the previous leader had been slayed by the opposition Umbra had taken the role as commander. It led the people flawlessly like it was always meant to. The harsh red sun glistened in it's eyes. To them it isn't just merely a war but more like a dance with a certain set of instructions to be performed perfectly. They know that not only the fate of their people but something even more substantial is at play here. The tyrannical opposition wont stop at just them if they win and social upheavel will always exist even if they win. It knows that this wont be the end.
Commander-Umbra: We musn't lose here understand. This will be the most important battle you've ever had.
> Everyone nods unanimously.
> But somehow even the harsh sun cannot compare to the feelings flowing through the vortex that is Umbra's head. They are sweating a little not just because of the blazing heat. They remain confidence so the people keep their hope. And in one fell command.
Commander-Umbra: CHARGE NOW.
> And the people listen to it. Each and every last one of them fights until the very end. After all the blood is shed umbra heads over to the Opposition's Leader.
Commander-Umbra: Any last words.
Commander-Nyx: ...
> No matter how much they try they cannot even muster a single word.
Commander-Umbra: So be it.
> Umbra slices their head clean off attaching it to the end of their sword like a pike. They stand atop the numerous bodies bloodying their boots. They hold up the head to the sky.
Lord-Umbra: IT IS OVER. YOU ALL LISTEN TO ME NOW.
Lord-Umbra: HEED MY WARNING, IF ANY OF YOU TRY TO START ANYTHING LIKE THIS EVER AGAIN I WILL CUT YOU DOWN.
> Umbra descends from the pile. Everybody is looking towards them. But Umbra knows that this is far from over. They appoint the second in command to look after the place and clean it up whilst they attend to important business. They ascend to the highest point of the land. The clouds are clearer than anywhere else. The air sings a divine song.
> They take out their own sword and pierce it through their own chest. They fall limp with a puddle of crimson blood on the ground.
> When they wake up they are surrounded by cosmic ruins not on any particular planet but surrounded by empty vast cosmos.
umbra: i see my journey here is almost complete.
> They reach the top of the ruins and then... Then......
> The curtains close. They obscure your vision completely.
